IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR OPERATION DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK :
Cumming Veterinary Clinic is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy environment for both our staff and clients. We are continuing to closely monitor the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
We’ve had calls asking if we are open – Yes, we are still seeing patients and our hours are the same Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 7am to 2pm!
But, we are making some changes to help keep our community safe. Our desire is to continue to be here to support your pet’s needs, so we ask that you help by committing with us to maintain safe standards for everyone involved. These are the protocols we will implement regarding operation during this time:
AS OF THURSDAY APRIL 2, 2020, Cumming Veterinary Clinic will be a CLOSED LOBBY Clinic. We will be utilizing curbside appointments and pickup. We ask that you call once you have arrived and a team member will assist you. Please be patient with us, we will have a limited number of staff in the clinic each day to assure we are following guidelines from the state and can remain open to provide care to your pets.
Day Admissions (drop-off's), Grooming, and Bathing clients should call from the car and a team member will be out to bring your pet into the facility.
We are currently receiving a lot of calls for medication refills and food orders. Due to the increased purchasing of these supplies, and the potential difficulty getting them delivered, we may be out of your requested item. Please call ahead to ensure we can accommodate your request, and to prepay for your item so it can be delivered to your car at your arrival. Also, try our online store for delivery to your doorstep! The call centers of the online stores are experiencing a high volume of calls as you can imagine and would like to extend a thank you for your patience during this time as they are working hard to assure every pet has what they need.

Statement on Coronavirus and Pets
SEATTLE, March 01, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trupanion, a leading provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs, confirmed today that they have seen no unusual increase or change in the frequency of illnesses in their extensive pet health database. The Seattle-based pet company, now in its third decade, has paid out over $1 billion in veterinary invoices and is constantly reviewing data to monitor changes in veterinary medicine to understand any underlying changes related to regular illness patterns.
Vice President of Analytics, Mary Rothlisberger confirmed: “We monitor our data on a very granular level; daily, weekly and monthly and by breed, country, city and even at a neighborhood level to make sure we understand and are on top of any health-related trends that might be out of the norm. As of today, we have not seen any increases or changes in the frequency of illnesses that would appear unusual.”
Dr. Steve Weinrauch, BVMS, MRCVS, Trupanion’s Chief Veterinary Officer explained: “With the recent news regarding a pet dog in Hong Kong being quarantined after testing 'weak positive' for COVID-19, we have experienced increasing concern from our members regarding the health of their pets. We want to provide them and other loving pet owners with some peace of mind. We understand that a pet is a member of the family and it’s natural to be worried for all of your loved ones.”
The U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have further confirmed that no animals in the United States have been identified with the virus and there is no evidence to suggest that dogs, or other pets can contract or spread COVID-19.

Your Veterinarian in Cumming Georgia
Located in Cumming Georgia and serving the surrounding Forsyth County communities of Johns Creek, Suwanee and Alpharetta we provide the best possible veterinary care for you and your pet. We take pride in offering veterinary medicine in an environment that is modern and progressive, as well as warm and hospitable.
We treat dogs, cats and many exotics such as parrots and rabbits. Oftentimes these pets are classified as small animals, but we prefer to call them companion animals, as your relationship to them provides you with joy, unconditional affection, and a deep bond. They hold a unique place in our life, and provide a relationship and a friendship we feel should be nurtured and rewarded.
Cumming Veterinary Clinic was the first AAHA accredited practice in Forsyth County. This accreditation is the highest level of excellence available for a veterinary hospital. We undergo regular, rigorous inspections to maintain this accreditation. Please visit here for more information.
Our practice philosophy is simple. Our own pets are our family members and we will treat yours the same way. We are committed to excellent client communication, service, and education. We believe the best way to deliver the care our companion animals need is for the veterinary team to work together with the client to achieve this end.
We embrace modern technology to deliver better care to your pet. Our practice is paperless with the ability for you to access your pet's medical records from anywhere at any hour. We have been advocates for reduced vaccination in our companion animals and have been using the limited vaccination schedule recommended by both AAHA and the AVMA since 1997.
